FAQ

What denomination is SSC?
Summer Street Church has a Baptist history but a non-denominational emphasis. We have Christians from a variety of church backgrounds in our body.

How big is the congregation?
While our church has under 100 year-round residents, we grow to more than 200 people each Sunday during the summer season.

What type of musical worship do you have?
We have a worship band that leads us in a mix of contemporary praise music as well as classic hymns.

Is there a place for my kids?
Yes! There is nursery for kids over the age of 1 for the Sunday service. For parents with infants, seating in the balcony (equipped with some toys) is available for privacy without having to miss the sermon. There is also Junior Church for kids ages 5-6 which runs downstairs during the sermon.

Where is First Baptist Church?
This is it! In October of 2000, the church adopted the name “Summer Street Church” as a way of honoring the variety of different Christian heritages that are in the congregation.

Are there any young adults?
Yes! Every summer, quite a few college-aged adults gather at SSC. They form what’s called the “Young Adult Group” which meets outside of church throughout the week to hang out and fellowship.
