Pisanki Egg Decorating Women's Event

Join us for a light lunch and some crafting time together. This is a great opportunity for fellowship and getting to know other women in our church family! All decorated eggs will be yours to keep.

“The custom of decorating eggs to celebrate Easter has existed for centuries throughout Poland. The word “pisanki” is commonly used to name Easter eggs and derives from the Polish verb pisać meaning “to write” (also “to paint” in older times). Traditionally, the designs were painted during Lent. They have symbolic meanings connected with beauty, fertility, rebirth, and life. Real pisanki are created by drawing on the eggs with a melted wax and then dipping them into dyes. Pisanki are added to Easter baskets along with samples of other Easter foods to be blessed on Holy Saturday. Come Easter Sunday morning, pisanki are exchanged among family and friends to wish everyone good health and prosperity.” (Reference)

Please register HERE if you plan to attend or are willing to bring something to share for a light lunch. Hope to see you there! All are welcome- invite your friends!
